Summer 2011 - "SUBMARINES"
The last Whacky Scrap Challenge!
This term`s theme was submarines and began on Saturday 21st May 2011 at 10.30am. Each team built a working model which powered down a course at Brookfields` swimming pool on 16th July 2011 at 2.00pm.

Spring 2011 - "ROBOTS"
The spring term began on Saturday 29th January 2011 at 10.30 am. Ten new teams joined the returning families from the tank challenge to construct a robot in this terms power challenge. Which animal themed robot pushed the marshmallow the furthest distance?

Autumn 2010 - "TANKS"
The Autumn term project began on Saturday 2 October 2010 and the teams
were tasked with constructing a tank to pull a heavy weight over a set distance for the start of the Whacky Scrap Races third year's theme, which
is now "power".

Summer 2010 - "BOATS"
The "Boat challenge" started on Saturday 22nd May 2010, the teams will construct a propeller powered boat from recycled materials to cross an expanse of water. Will your boat make a successful crossing or will it meander, or even sink!
The grand final took place on 17th July 2010 at Streatley Primary school's outdoor shallow pool.

Spring 2010 - The "Distance" theme continued with the teams challenged to build a rocket launcher and up to three decorated rockets to be fired with a combination of water/ compressed air over an eight week period.

Autumn 2009 - Whacky Scrap Races relaunched on Saturday 3 October 2009. The teams were tasked with making a small-scale trebuchet out of dowel, bamboo or cardboard over the 8 week course.
The autumn trebuchet challenge ended on Saturday 28 November 2009.

Summer 2009 - The teams made a plane powered by an elastic band to see how fast it would fly. These were accompanied by an airport scene made from recycling.
Spring 2009 - Teams made a speedy hovercraft and section of floor track this term and took part in a grand final on 21 March 2009. The themes created included dessert, lagoon, forest floor and the sea - all to a very high standard.
Autumn 2008 - Launched in October 2008 over the first 8 weeks that term teams made a solar powered buggy and a themed frieze in a bid to win an award at the grand final on 29 November 2008. A huge variety of themes were put together with incredible creative flair from mediavel castles, space exploration, seaside scenes, woodland landscapes and much more!
Families enjoy spending quality time together and a chance to be creative while also learning a variety of new skills.
